The Great Lakes Coastal Forecasting System (GLCFS) was developed jointly by
GLERL and The Ohio State University (OSU) over the period 1992-97 and was
originally called the Great Lakes Forecasting System (GLFS). The version of
the system operated by OSU (http://superior.eng.ohio-state.edu) continues
to use the GLFS acronym. The GLERL GLCFS system differs from the OSU system
in that it is customized for use by professional weather personnel and
operates on a stand-alone workstation. This is a demonstration system and
should not be used for operational purposes. GLERL cannot guarantee the
accuracy or continued availability of GLCFS products.
